John Strickland,

Mr. Strickland has been involved in Atlanta’s landscape industry since 1976. During this time he has held the position of vice-president for three of Atlanta’s top 25 landscape companies, according to Business Chronicle, and has owned an award winning company for 11 years. In 1993, Mr. Strickland became Chairman of Atlanta’s Environmental Awards Program, overseeing the recognition to the regions finest landscape installation and maintenance projects.
In 1996, Mr. Strickland was nominated President of the Metro Atlanta Landscape and Turf Association, M.A.L.T.A., the largest urban landscape association in the Southeastern U.S. serving over 900 corporate and individual members. Mr. Strickland became Chairman of the Georgia Green Industry Association, G.G.I.A. in 2005. G.G.I.A. is the states umbrella association representing landscape, retail, wholesale, flower growers, and allied associates throughout the state of Georgia. During this time Mr. Strickland was awarded a seat on the Urban Agriculture Council, which is an alliance of all industry related associations in Georgia and works closely with our legislators to ensure positive legislative action in relation to the landscape industry. Mr. Strickland currently holds the position of Chairman for the Georgia Certified Landscape Professional testing in both Alabama and Georgia. The G.C.L.P. program was designed to educate and test the proficiency of professional landscapers.
